For most of us, our late teens and early twenties are an important stage of shaping our identity and self expression. This is especially true with these four South African individuals, each carving their own creative journey.

My creative process stems from my identity. All my work comes from within and relates to being a queer body. I’m specifically interested in gender identity and sexuality. Surrounding myself with other queers allows me to draw inspiration and expands my artistic ability when putting myself in this space.
I’m inspired by my contemporaries, specifically those who are taking charge and are erecting their own identity and stories. We’re not waiting for anyone to approach us, we’re taking charge of our own narrative. Digital convergence and the digital space has given us the agency and platform to pose questions, offer an alternative to the monolithic conversation and express ourselves in an honest and bold way.
Brandon, Model I’m a non binary model. I love expressing the contrast between my masculine and feminine self through modelling.
I’m a queer fashion designer and stylist based in Bangkok. At the moment, my work is centered on the creating a cross cultural exchange between my native country South Africa and Thailand.
