Black people, more so, black women are hardly apart of the conversation when it comes to wealth and luxury. Representation should be at the forefront of thought for tastemakers that form the seams of the culture. Young black women should feel and believe that the finer things in life are attainable and that impostor syndrome has no place for who they aspire to be. Winter in Suburbia narrates the simplicity of being. Black women are allowed to be and should permit themselves to do so, in any space at any time. The images were shot in a house that began as a second-generation dream. Now through the walls, the sounds of joy and good Merlot, echos from one day to the next.

The images were shot in June (2019). It was the peak of Winter in Midrand with my reluctant sister for a model.
